Be Your Own Birder

Giveaway Time – Audubon’s Birthday!

What better way to celebrate John James Audubon’s birthday later this month than with an Audubon prize for a giveaway? Enjoy beautiful birds, celebrate a birding legend, and learn more about birds by joining in for your chance to win!

Giveaway Time!

Audubon’s Birthday

On April 26, 2022, John James Audubon would have turned a robust 237 years old. Okay, so perhaps he wouldn’t be around to celebrate that momentous mark, but birders worldwide can mark the occasion by celebrating the man who had so much influence on birding, even so long after his birth.

How to celebrate? Enjoy a day of birding, visit a nature preserve, choose a new field guide (an Audubon’s birthday gift for yourself!), refill your bird feeders, or simply appreciate all the birds in your life. Don’t forget a slice of cake (never a bad time for cake), or offer some extra treats for birds. Best of all, join in this month’s giveaway for a way to enjoy Audubon year-round and for many birthdays to come.

The Prize to Win

The giveaway prize to celebrate John James Audubon is a vintage set of four of his amazing lithograph prints, in frameable 5×7 format. Included are the blue jay, white-winged crossbill, mallard, and northern cardinal prints, each with information about the bird and the print on the back. The set comes in its original envelope, which has further information about the Audubon and his bird prints. Three of the prints are in vertical format, while the mallard is horizontal.

Frames are not included with the giveaway, but each print measures 5×7 inches and can be easily inserted into the frame of your choice.

Note that this is a vintage item, and while the prints are in superior condition, the envelope does show some wear, including slightly bent corners and minor tears on the edges.

Already have a large framed print, Cardinals by Ray Harm, and two small framed prints of birds to match my living room colors. I’ve had the two small prints since I was a teenager and have always loved nature.

Every room of my house has bird pictures or figurines. I have puzzles that I put together and glued to hang on my walls, original oil paintings, prints. None are random. They all have sentimental value.

Feathers find their places all over our home, along with numerous bird prints from various artists and some photography of my own. Would love to have some classic Audubons to add to that collection!

I have a framed woodprint of a cedar waxwing that I have framed. It’s quite lovely. Also, my sister drew a pencil sketch of an owl that I have hanging on my wall.

Bird pictures, figurines. Prints, night lights, my grandchildren art wall with pictures of birds & owls. Books, guides, binoculars.
